Tamed Nature -- Confortable Jungle, in "Relative Density", curated by Leonor Nazaré, CAMJAP -- Centro de Arte Moderna José de Azeredo Perdigão -- Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian The experience of personal contact with a work of art can be measured in terms of intensity. Let us suppose that the intensity of each (aesthetic, cultural) experience with a work of art is strongly determined by the piece’s density. That premise will be tested on works from the Modern Art Centre’s collection, used as both a pretext for reflecting on these aspects and also as an opportunity for showing a large number of recent acquisitions, displayed in dialogue with older pieces.
